Tucker International Assessment Scales Research Show High and Consistently Increasing Reliability.

NEW Research on Assessment Scales

Tucker International has just completed the latest research project in its series designed to assess and predict intercultural adjustment. The project included a large sample of corporate employees and their spouses being assessed for international assignments. Over 1800 people completed Tucker’s assessment instruments. Some 70 different nationalities were represented. They were being assessed for assignment to over 65 countries, and they worked for 45 global companies.

In 2004, Tucker published a major article on its research (Tucker, Bonial & Lahti, International Journal of Intercultural Research V. 28, Issues 3 – 4, May/July 2004). That study showed assessment scales significantly predicting intercultural adjustment among corporate expatriates over a one-year time period. This most recent research dramatically increased the reliability of the assessment scales. This reliability is estimated by means of the Alpha statistic. A value at or approaching .70 is the standard.

This new research provides an ever increasing level of confidence that these assessment scales represent a reliable method for assessment, selection and development of corporate expatriates. Further, these scales are applicable for a very wide range of global mobility across nationalities and assignment countries.
